    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=2" rel="nofollow">Guests</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1430<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27 Sep 2010 at 6:55pm<br /><br />I don't know about the rest of you but, I can't stand the suspense any longer!!!&nbsp; What the heck is it?<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0161a.jpg" height="273" width="410" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>It is a Coleman CT187QB.&nbsp; Yes, I know it is really a Thor/Dutchmen with the Coleman name.&nbsp; Much like the Coleman popups are actually made by Fleetwood.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0109a.jpg" height="300" width="600" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Dixie - always the "ham" - getting in the pictures.&nbsp; It is 19'2" long and has an UVW (with all of the options) of 3018lbs.&nbsp; About 650 more than my RP173 (about 2350, if memory serves).&nbsp; A couple of nice touches are the light up front for hitching after dark, one over the drain for dumping after dark, and the pass thru storage is lighted.&nbsp; It also has only one drain to hook the stinky slinky ( on my Pod, there were two and I had to switch the hose).&nbsp; It also has an outside spray hose for those muddy hiking boots.&nbsp; It has outside speakers, but I'll probably never use them.&nbsp; At 7' wide, it is only about 1" wider than my truck on each side, so I have good visibility with the standard factory&nbsp;mirrors.&nbsp; With dual axles on a short trailer, sway is not an issue at all - it pulls pretty good.&nbsp; </DIV>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=2" rel="nofollow">Guests</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1430<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 26 Sep 2010 at 5:24pm<br /><br />You're getting closer!&nbsp; I'll give you the radio...it's a Yaesu 897 w/LDG antenna tuner attached.&nbsp; It belongs to a friend who insisted I try it.&nbsp; My usual radio is a Yaesu 847.&nbsp; For you radio guys, here is what I use for an antenna set up, at present<DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0218a.jpg" height="960" width="270" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>It is a Yaesu ATAS (Active Tuning Antenna System) "screwdriver" type antenna.&nbsp; It is mounted on a 12' aluminum painting pole - which just happens to fit perfectly into my spare tire bracket.&nbsp; (I did a a small bracket at the bottom to keep the pole from sliding all the way thru)&nbsp; All is grounded to the chassis of the camper.</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0219a.jpg" height="925" width="410" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Speaking of antennas, mine is a little different from the Pod's ANOTHER CLUE!</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0217a.jpg" height="334" width="550" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>This seems to be the typical sort of mpg that I have been getting.&nbsp; I usually drive 65 +or- and am turning about 17-1800rpms in "tow mode".<img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0211a.jpg" height="575" width="655" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=2" rel="nofollow">Guests</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1430<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 24 Sep 2010 at 5:38am<br /><br />OK...dispite the fact that we have assembled, here on the RPOD Owners Forum, more raw brain power than has probably ever been gathered in one place at any time in the history of the universe, we seem to be struggling with this just a bit. <img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/smileys/smiley33.gif" height="23" width="25" border="0" alt="Ying Yang" title="Ying Yang" /><DIV></DIV>Remember your first clues; it is one foot longer than the Pod, seven feet wide, has dual axles and dual propane tanks.&nbsp; Here are the first of some visual clues:<DIV>First, the must haves...</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0116a.jpg" height="580" width="600" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>The dry bath</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0119a.jpg" height="750" width="600" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>The medicine cabinet is great for storing personal care items; like toothpaste, comb, razor, etc.&nbsp; However, I rarely use this stuff.&nbsp; But, with it in there, it may give people the impression that I <EM>may </EM>use it at some future point.&nbsp; Notice the awning, in the mirror - complete with tacky lights.&nbsp; I have a couple of sets of these - depending on just how tacky I choose to be.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/100_0121a.jpg" height="300" width="600" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>The dinette, with a Ham radio (not included with the purchse of the camper).&nbsp; This being my first outing with the unit, back in early April, I just ran the coax cable out the window.&nbsp; Bonus points will be awarded if you can correctly identify the make, model of the radio and what frequency I am operating on <img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/smileys/smiley17.gif" height="20" width="20" border="0" alt="T&#111;ngue" title="T&#111;ngue" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>That's it for a couple of days.&nbsp; It's time to put the thing to some more use at one of our State Parks.</DIV>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=2" rel="nofollow">Guests</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1430<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22 Sep 2010 at 7:28am<br /><br />Thanks all for your excellent guesses/suggestions.&nbsp; (also, thanks Outbound for your flow simulator work, last year)&nbsp; However, none of you are correct, yet. <DIV>The&nbsp;words "Galileo" and futuristic did get me thinking of an old <EM>Star Trek </EM>episode called the "The Galileo Seven".&nbsp; </DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/tn_shuttle_html_m482a1da0.jpeg" height="327" width="400" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>Anyway, Spock, Scotty and a couple of others had taken the shuttle "Galileo" to a planet, became stranded and were being attacked by huge ape-like creatures!&nbsp; (Sort of like my daily experiences at my place of employment)&nbsp; Of course, one of the "red shirt" guys gets killed prior to the first commercial break - per standard <EM>Star Trek </EM>protocol.</DIV><DIV>I thought something like that would make a cool looking RV.&nbsp; But, it turns out, some guy(s) beat me to the punch a while back! (and they did a pretty good job)</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/tn_shuttle_html_2a43082f.jpeg" height="300" width="400" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>Now, if you want a bunch of "can I see it" sort of people gathering around your campsite, make yourself one of these!&nbsp;&nbsp; (just don't wear a red shirt!) &nbsp;This fellow made it out of an old class C motorhome - discarding all the stuff not needed (which seems to be everything but the chassis and motor)</DIV><DIV><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/444/tn_shuttle_html_m1c08ab61.jpeg" height="300" width="400" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>Upon reflecting for a while, I decided that this whole "Galileo" thing was either going too expensive (first post) or too much work (this post).&nbsp; So, what I bought does not even sound like the word "Galileo".&nbsp;&nbsp; Stay tuned as the drama unfolds!</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>
