Any cost to you? I sent photos of the issue over a month ago to Tina but have not heard back. How long from sending photos to them offering to fix? How bad was your issue? I’m in Ontario so I was wondering how they are dealing with Canadians. Forest River is telling me that the axles in some Rpods were over-torqued, leading to damaged frames, damaged floors and sinking walls. They say the outriggers are not going to solve the issue, after the damage starts.

They are willing to pay to transport my 2018 RPod 180 to their facility in Oregon, replace the axle, replace the damaged frame, and repair floors and wall. I thought that was pretty generous of them. Especially since I am located in Canada. Big smile

. They really seem to be trying to help owners make the best of this bad situation.

Most of the time they have them in stock. The description says "179/190 R-Pod Outrigger -12 gauge steel laser cut, formed & powder coated black with aluminum spacer block"

The will ship them for a cost, I just happened to be going through the area on a trip and stopped and got them. They are very good to work with.

I got the outriggers in the spring of this year. I lifter the entire side of the rpod and installed them, but the floor did not come back up to level. I think I'm screwed...

I tried to order outriggers from Forest River when my slide side wall began sinking this year. They refused to send them, saying they needed to replace the floor, the frame and the axle at the factory. None of this is true, and I even sent 13 photos to prove it. The side wall just needs support. Forest RIver's Western parts rep, Tina, said she'd "try to have a look at them over the next few weeks" and get back to me. She said they would "install outriggers if necessary" at the factory after I have it shipped there. Apparently, Forest River won't send the outriggers to me or to my RV tech. So, I am looking for another source for outriggers for an RPod 180. @pilotpodder Thank you so much for all the help you providing here and on YouTube. Really appreciate it and it has brought some emotional relief from the unfortunate discovery of our floor problems. Just wanted to give a heads up that Forest River still has Outriggers in stock. Feel a bit behind the curve because I just read about the wall sags and was concerned that Forest River may have possibly run out. But not yet. 👍 Just call 1(574) 642-3119. At the prompts hit 3 for parts, then 2 for R-Pod and you’ll be connected directly to a sales person. Took a whole 5 minutes to place an order.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but can someone post the dimensions of the FR outriggers? I am interested in the length of the top, and the height of the side to see how they would work on my 180.

I have a bulge in my floor near the door and it looks like one of the floor joists has bent and the floor is sagging towards the wall.

The braces are plenty strong enough. There is really very little weight on them, rpod walls are very light. The problem isn't that the loads are high it's that the floor is weak. Having to add the braces is a patch on the underlying (pun intended) problem. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures. I think there were four. I only looked on the slide-side. They seemed to be evenly spaced. I saw a new 179. The outriggers are now factory installed. Well I have ordered 4 more brackets.....probably only need 2 but I want some spares just in case i need them. I agree with the floor sag in the middle but they could have added braces during construction and are doing so now. If they moved the frame out the floor would just sag worse in the center instead (there are plenty of cases of center sagging too).

They were trying to make the lightest cheapest floor possible and use a cantilever arrangement with overhangs on each side to make it work. Cantilevers are used all the time to extend the span of beams, and they generally work well.

If it's dry you should be ok. If unsure get a wood moisture meter. Inexpensive and very handy tool to have around. You can also check water content in firewood, leaks around windows at home, etc.

Yikes, 3/4 inch is a lot. Check to be sure there isnt any water damage in the floor in that area if you haven't already. If not, then jack her up and add outrigger brackets as needed. Get more if you need to, can't hurt. Then, reaseal both the top and bottom edges. The forward corner is where I was having the issue on both sides. The fiberglass pulled out of the aluminum molding. I feel like this was because it was bouncing on rough roads. My repairs to the fiberglass laminate seems to have fixed it as nothing broke free on our last trip. It's not critical in this application but in general if you place evenly spaced supports under a beam with ones at each end the those will only have half the load of the inner ones. I installed my outriggers spaced equally under the width of the slideout . I put one at each end of the slideout and the other 2 equidistant from each other.I assumed that would support the weight evenly across the width of the wall cutout.

It certainly worked, but may not have been the best spacing.

When the slide out is extended all the way, look under it and you will see 4 rollers about 4 inches long, this is what i have on my 179. I figured this is where the most of the weight is located.
