As water temperature are taking longer to cool below the "magic" 80 degree mark which is required to maintain a hurricane the season is lasting longer, at least until end of Oct if not later. Anyone camping near the gulf or Atlantic coasts over the next 10 weeks or so should be prepared to bug out or change their plans quickly. Leave early if a storm is expected, you will miss the traffic and be less of a problem for first responders to deal with.

Take your 'Pod and chainsaw and head. Bring a group. I know of a handful of groups that take volunteers and organize relief.

I work with one and will be headed south in September. We bring generators, a power panel for RVs, shower trailers, a laundry trailer, tools and saws and a kitchen to feed volunteers. There is normally plenty of parking for RVs.

Hurricane Laura : While there are going to be flooded...

The eye of a cat 4 with 150 mph winds and 10+ ft of storm surge just went through there. At least 4 ppl died. Any RVs that were there are going to be kindling now far inland. It would take a miracle for someone that didn’t make it into a proper building in time to survive that.
