There is a freeze sensor in the a/c which shuts it off if the evaporator freezes up. You have to recycle the a/c to get it to reset. If its cooling ok to begin with that might be your problem. You might be able to see if the evaporator is frozen up by removing the interior cover, not sure. Keeping the fan on high will reduce the likelihood of freeze up if you can stand the jet engine roar all night

    Author: Leals
Subject: 13955
Posted: 26 Aug 2020 at 9:18pm

I am a new RPod owner. We have a 2016 179. We just got back from a week-long trip. At night, I'd set the thermostat at 68 (it was over 100° where we were). It would come on, cool for a bit, then shut off and come back on (low) for a few minutes, then shut off. But then it wouldn't come back on unless I shut it off completely, wait 10 or 15 seconds and turn it back on.
Can someone explain to me how the AC works so it will come on and off like a house AC....or do they not work that way?

Thank You!
