Agree with ArenaBlanca. When camping in the high desert or mountains the night temps can get into freezing range, but only for an hour or two, not enough to freeze warm water usually. It would take a lot to freeze the fresh water tank but the feed line from the tank to the pump is exposed so that would freeze about as soon as the city water line. You could enclose it in foam pipe insulation and run a little water through it a few times overnight, that would probably handle temps down into the high 20's. 

If you want to be sure drain the tank, disconnect the city water, and use bottled water if you hit cold conditions.

Northern NM and southern CO have already had one night of cold weather.  But I don't think you will need to get a heated hose. Most campgrounds in the area have running water until they are closed.  If you suspect freezing overnight temps, you have two options.  

You can fill the fresh water tank and use that.  The volume is such that it probably will not freeze. The second option is to disconnect from city (campground) water for overnight. Drain the hose and reconnect in the morning.  

You should be okay for this time of year.  You might wish to call the campgrounds you plan to saty at and ask their advice.

Traveling to West Yellowstone and will be there for the first week of September, then on to Glacier for the second week, and down to Colorado for the third week by way of Idaho and Utah. Any weather preparation tips or thoughts from y'all? My concern is frigid mornings/water difficulties. Is it wise to invest in a water hose with the heat tape?
