It should come with what you need to connect to a disposable tank, but if you want to use a 20 lb cylinder, you need one of these:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/GasOne-50143-Steel-Braided-Propane-1lb-to-20lb-Converter-Adapter/207511713

This is the link for the better quality steel wrapped hose. If you want to use it with your RPod's low pressure fitting, then someone else will need to provide the answer as I don't have a low pressure port in our 2016 RP179.

I didn't want to do a dual tank conversion. I have plenty of space to carry a spare tank. My tongue weight is at 382, didn't want to go higher. I looked at it and it looks like it likely would not work for my situation. I already did a dual-tank setup on the tongue with auto-switchover. This looks like it is more for a large tank that fills in place on a motor home. Forget it is there. Seriously.

If you want to cook outdoors, just buy a tabletop or freestanding grill, screw in a bottle, (or attach a 20# tank) and go for it. If you want a small propane firepit or lantern, again, just provide it with it's own LP supply.

If you use that frame mounted port you have to use a portable LP appliance that does NOT have its own regulator. Try finding those at a big box store.

And if you do, you will be draining the supply on your trailer. Just....fo-get about it.

My opinion and of course, there will be other opinions to follow.

It is low pressure so you would need one meant for low-pressure propane. These don't have (or need) a regulator since the pressure has already been reduced by the RPod's regulator. Our 2016 RP179 does not have that. It would be handy and I have thought about trying to add one. I just have not figured out how yet.

As for the battery, yes. The converter in the RPod charges your battery if low and maintain it at a float charge if it is fully charged. I added a 30A outlet to our house to be able to keep the RPod plugged in and also to be able to run the AC while we are home. Most of the time, I keep it at 80F because I don't want the interior to get too hot and I don't want the NC summertime humidity. In the winter, I can keep a small ceramic block heater going to keep the interior above freezing. That does not take the place of winterizing, but it keeps my LiFePO4 battery above freezing since it is inside.
