We also ditched the table in our 179. I built a table to our dimensions and support it with 2 metal columns.  It is very sturdy, we can get in/out without moving it and we use it for eating, food prep and as a desk/reading/computer table. the columns come apart and ride on the bed, the table top gets turned upside down and rides on the couch.

Pretty much, that's how it works. I never use it as a dinette, just as a sitting area.
