Dometic Reefer Issue. : My 178 has been in building since...

    Author: mcarter
Subject: 13627
Posted: 06 Jun 2020 at 5:57pm

My 178 has been in building since last camping season. It is connected to a 120, 20A source and the MAIN and CONVERTOR CBs are ON. Everything else is off on the AC side and the fuses on 12V side are in place. The reefer door is OPEN. The reefer is OFF. I opened up the other day for my stink bug inspection and the reefer light was ON. The control panel had an error, the AC was not present and the TRIANGLE was blinking. Which makes sense. I turned the reefer off. No problem. I came back 2 hours later and the reefer light is ON with same warning symptoms. I verified the 120V was off and even disconnected the reefer wall plug. The battery recognizes a load on the 12V circuitry. I found if I pull the 12V Reefer/Slideout Lights fuse the reefer light or control panel doesn't come on. I also verified if I connect up and run reefer the 120V side does cool and operate reefer. I have NOT looked at the 12V side yet. But my kneejerk is reefer is working. Tomorrow I will pull the Reefer/Slideout light 15A fuse and see if reefer control panel and light stay off. My thinking at this pointis the control panel is acting like HAL. Anybody see a similar issue?
