Last year for field day a group of us headed up 9000 feet in the Lincoln National Forest not far from Cloudcroft, NM.

It was a pretty rough road the last few miles but the r-pod survived....I took it slow and easy.

The team operated a small kit radio with a little 30 watt solar panel and small lithium battery, and a wire antenna strung up in the trees....this year I will probably just listen...funds are a bit limited this year....

BTW did you notice that there is a large tower in the background?

Me too, in a few weeks for Amateur Radio Field Day. The field this year will be my driveway!

Well, since campgrounds around here are beginning to open up, I de-winterized the pod and I'm getting it ready to go...in the meantime, I'm virtual camping on my own lot!
