And one can step over the tongue easily.. I have had it for a year or so, and really like it. It does not slip when loaded up.

Did you have the same issue, or was yours just held in by a split pin or tab washer? I called my dealer and they said that some of the later models of manual tongue jacks have the washer welded in to prevent accidental disengagement of the crank handle under pressure. Apparently the washer can be knocked loose with a "cold chisel", whatever that is! Like all quick and easy fixes, there is always a Murphy hiding somewhere! I'll find a cold chisel and try it. Thanks again.

Not sure I have the tools or the expertise to cut the pipes off level, but will definitely look into it and give it some consideration!

As we camp in the Rockies, and not all campgrounds are level, and even though we go slowly and carefully, we have snagged the odd piece of turf! My energy levels not being what they used to be we want to go electric, and would like a bit more clearance to prevent damaging the motor or gearing on a new electric tongue jack. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Stay well and stay healthy in these difficult times.
