Author: StephenH
Subject: 13384
Posted: 11 Feb 2020 at 8:26pm

At first, I had the weight mainly resting on the valences, using command strips to hold the brackets I made to the wall. I later switched to anchors (if you drill into the wall, make sure anything you put in there is an inch or less. Otherwise, you will go through the outer wall. I made that mistake and learned quickly not to use anything over an inch long, preferably shorter. I think I mentioned doing so in one of my mods post, but it might have been in a different place also. The valences are not made to hold weight, so you will need some way to carry the weight. Some people have found the same shelf and instead of making brackets like I did, drilled the ends of the shelf and put in adjustable feet that can be tightened against the walls to carry the weight and hold it in place. You would need to search. Using the Advanced Search allows you to expand the date range. The default is to only search posts within the past six months. Advanced search lets you search older topics and posts also.

We are planning a cross-country trip that will also include Canada and into Alaska before turning south and heading to see our daughters and grandchildren before returning home.
