Aug 29, 2020 -- From the MO State Parks website:
Missouri State Parks has instituted a number of changes related to campground operations to better facilitate appropriate social distancing and improve the safety of operations for Missouri State Parks’ guests and staff.
The additional measures include the following:
  • Reservations are required prior to arrival.
  • Campground occupancy may be limited at some parks and sites.
  • Missouri State Parks has increased the frequency of cleaning shower houses and restrooms.
  • Campers may use a new contactless, self-check-in feature.
  • There are occupancy restrictions in shower houses and restrooms.
  • Missouri State Parks only accept credit and debit cards.
One of the changes visitors will experience is a new contactless, self-check-in feature. On the morning of their planned arrival to a state park or historic site, campers will receive an email with instructions on how to access their reservation online and check in. Alternatively upon arrival, campers can check in by opening the camera on their smartphone device and hovering over the QR code posted at the campsite, and following the prompt.
Come prepared to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. Visitors are strongly encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines, bring hand sanitizer and bottled water, and please stay home if you are sick. Missouri State Parks recommends reviewing signage posted throughout the parks and state historic sites, and diligently following guidelines for the health and safety of others.

3/29/2020 -- DATE CHANGE FROM MAY 2020 TO OCTOBER 2020 DUE TO CORONAVIRUS.

August 29, 2020 update - all campsites are booked. Let me know if you would like to be added to the mailing list.

Previous posts:

Weston Bend State Park, northwest of Kansas City, will again be the site for an R-Pod Rally!. Will you join us? The official Rally will be Thursday Oct 8 - Sunday Oct 11 but we plan to be there Oct 6-12. Come when you can!

Of course - the rally is not only for those who live nearby or in the midwest, or just for those who attended last year - ya'll come! πŸ˜€ Pets and children welcome.

RESERVATION WINDOW IS OPEN! This is a small campground, and fall is a beautiful, busy time in the area, and the campground will likely fill fast.

Weston Bend State Park sits high above the banks of the Missouri River, with hiking and bike trails with nice views. (No river views from the campground itself).

Water is available at three stations around the campground but NOT at each site -- Remember to fill your tank prior to setting up camp. 😏
Dump station and nice shower/restroom facility available. There is also one vault toilet building.
The historic small town of Weston is just down the road, and it is a delightful place to visit! "The Best Small Town in Missouri." Tour wineries, a brewery, a distillery, a creamery and sheep dairy farm; shop nice galleries, boutiques, and antique stores; and dine at a variety of local restaurants. This will be a pretty low-key Rally giving you plenty of time to relax, hike, have fun in Weston, or just get to know other Podders. We will have some pot-lucks and campfires, and details will be posted down the road.

One event we will plan again for those who wish to participate, is a HOMETOWN GIFT EXCHANGE. Bring a wrapped item (one per person or one per Pod) that represents something about your hometown, and is in the $10-15 range. Enclose a note with the item with your name, and explain how this relates to your hometown. This event will not be mandatory, and no need to sign up. Either bring something, or don't. Smile

Chuck and I have reserved Site #18 again as "Rally Central."
Right now there are electric sites available near Site 18!
When making reservations, those over 65 can get a $2/night reduction. πŸ˜€
There are no park entrance fees.
