I trimmed my ParaQue slide out cover to the length of the rail. That assisted install, I since moved on to Lippert installed cover. They will flex enough to let you get the edge of the cover into the rail. You may need to widen one end slightly and file the sharp corner down to make it smoother. Then you should be able to get the cover started and fed in.
