Also, if you are filling your tank, you could add some Camco TastePURE Drinking Water Freshener to help prevent algae from building up in your tank. I was given some and then decided it was a cheap way to help keep the water safe in my tank after my spring sanitizing. so far, it seems to work well. The other thing I do is to run the water through a filter before adding to the tank. The Camco TastePURE filter is what I use. I usually get them at my local Walmart since that is generally the least expensive option.

I would flush good to get as much gunk out, and re-sanitize. If our camper sits for more then 3 weeks, I sanitize. Used r-pod 2 month ago after sanitizing water system , then drained fresh water tank after returning.  Preparing to go out again and found ugly green gunk chunks flushing from newly filled fresh water tank.  Dangerous?  Can be fixed by more flushing?  System must be sanitized?  All of the above?
