Not quite as close to the water as Seacliff, but you aren't jammed together like Seacliff either. You still get to watch, hear, and smell the beach from the campground. Bring a sweater, because the water is always cold along this section of the coast.

It is cheek by jowl but its the beach so its cool. And the best Mexican restaurant on the coast (not exaggerating) is in easy walking distance from the campground. The campground is booked up all summer so you either need to try for the winter or reserve way in advance.

We're looking forward to camping year round here in California. Since we're both still working, we tend to travel more during the summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas time frames when we have the time off.

I'm looking for recommendations for RV friendly campgrounds in northern California. We're pretty familiar with the CA state parks. My wife likes the idea of spots with full hookups though I worry about parking lot-like spaces with no privacy.

I'm interested in mountain or coastal areas that are known to be scenic and quiet.
