We like Half Moon Beach State Park a ways north in Half Moon Bay. Not quite as close to the water as Seacliff, but you aren't jammed together like Seacliff either. You still get to watch, hear, and smell the beach from the campground. I'll recommend one.  I like is Seacliff state beach, one of the few places in CA where you can camp right on the beach in sight of the surf. And there are state and local park campgrounds all up & down the coast; not to mention numerous private operations. I could mention them, but the list is quite long.

After many years of tent camping, we've upgraded to an Rpod 190. We're looking forward to camping year round here in California. Since we're both still working, we tend to travel more during the summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas time frames when we have the time off. 

I'm looking for recommendations for RV friendly campgrounds in northern California. We're pretty familiar with the CA state parks. My wife likes the idea of spots with full hookups though I worry about parking lot-like spaces with no privacy. 

I'm interested in mountain or coastal areas that are known to be scenic and quiet.
