I have been using one that contains teflon, DuPont Multi-Use Lubricant with Teflon. Thanks. Filed for future reference if needed. I have to lubricate mine a couple of times per year when they start to get too stiff and start creaking too loudly.

It appears that the hinge is OK, but the hinge pin broke. I would try to push out the hinge pin (both parts) with a thin punch or maybe an appropriately sized nail (with the point filed flat). Then find a replacement pin at your local hardware store. Looks like you will have to do some minor straightening of the hinge itself.

7 mph is an unusually calm day here in Texas. I am sorry to hear of your problem. I did an internet search - You are not alone in having problems with your door hinge. I am afraid that a friction hinge is an example of regressing progress. 

A Lippert promo on the internet  brags that their hinge will stay in position in a 15 mph wind, but the average US wind speed is about 7 mph! A Luddite, I think I'll stay with the old reliable hinge with a catch that keeps it out of the way.

The frame side of the hinge is riveted to the frame. It didn't snap, but it's not going to align either. Just looking for any experience people had with this thing.

It's a friction hinge, always took some effort to close/open the door. So when it didn't open as usual, I just pressed harder... and it snapped. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
