I finally got around to converting our Rpod 180 table to a pedestal mount.  I used the original table top. I used 12 #8 X 5/8ths pan head sheet metal screws to attach the pedestal flange to the under side of the table top.  I drilled 12 new holes in the flange to accept the #8 pan head screws  I had to drill pilot holes in the table top using a 9/64ths bit.

Used 6 #10 X 1" flat head screws to attach the pedestal flange base to the floor.

Used two angel brackets to attach the table top to the wall.  #10 X 1 inch flat head screws into the wall and #10 X 1/2 inch flat head sheet metal screws into the underside of the table top.  I drilled pilot holes in the floor and wall and table top with the same 9/64ths inch drill bit.  Photos attached.

Used a piece of 3/16th inside diameter snowmobile fuel line on the drill bit when drilling pilot holes in the underside of the table top to make holes 1/2 inch deep and avoid accidentally drilling through the top.

to answer TCJ-we have a 179 model RPod. the dinette couch area slides in and out.  We can't leave the columns in place when the slide comes in. the original table from FR was also made to travel upside down and strapped to the couch for travel.  We do the same with our replacement table. The table/columns/base are certainly stable enough to travel in place, but we have to retract the slide which necessitates removing the columns.

When we need the dinette bed, we throw the OEM table top into the truck and use it as needed.  That table top is really too big for the limited space in the table area.  The little table we have, we keep at an angle to make it easy to get in and out, but if we have to seat 4 people, really the maximum you'd want at the dinette, we can turn it so that it's square with our Pod and have plenty of room for everyone.  

The size of the OEM table is governed by the needs of making the dinette into a bed, but it is really too big to use as a comfortable table.

Pod People, why do you remove the table top when traveling?  Are the pedestals not sturdy enough to travel all set up?

I ordered the pedestal and bases in Lostman's post. I plan to use the top off the collapsible table that came in our Rpod 180.  It is 27 inches square.  I was hoping to not have to remove the table when traveling.

We also used the pedestal base idea with 2 columns/bases.  We have the 179, so there is a specific space between the edge of the couch and the 2 ottomans.  I cut a piece of 3/4" plywood that perfectly fits tight in this space so it doesn't move around.   I  screwed  2 column bases to the plywood which provides a very stable platform for the column bases. I stained and polyurethaned the plywood.

I also made the table top using 3/4" birch veneer plywood.  I cut it to the same size as original and used it a couple of times.  We decided that it was too big for the 2 of us, so cut it down several times until we got the size we wanted.  Ultimately, it ended up being 24"x39".  I used a special table top varnish from Woodworker's Supply for the finish. I applied 4 coats and it has been very durable.

We remove the table top and strap it to the couch when traveling.  the columns are placed on the bed for travel.

I bought the floor base that is recessed into the floor, of course you have to use a hole saw and cut a big hole in the floor, which is not to everyones liking. But it gave me a flatter floor where the floor base is installed.

FYI This is my first post. 

 Would like to change knee bumping dinette supplied to center pedestal and reuse the same top. If someone else has done the same or similar and could help me find the pedestal it would be appreciated. 

 I would prefer to screw it down and not store for driving. We don't need the pedestal to lower for sleeping but if available that would be a good option for resale.
