Keeping your battery fully charged will ensure that it won't freeze, even if you experience sub-zero temperatures unless you happen to live where it gets extremely cold. See this chart from Trojan:

If you can keep the R-Pod plugged in and let the converter keep the battery charged, your battery will not be in danger of freezing. When ours is at home, it stays plugged in and I don't worry about our batteries. I just check them periodically to make sure the electrolyte level is above the plates and add distilled water as needed.

The battery is not stagnate. It is being maintained by the converter and the 120 source. We don't get as cold as you, but I never remove my battery, I plug into 120 and leave Main and Converter CBs ON. Let converter maintain batt. Correct, no plumbing, we have already winterized. I only take the batteries out because it gets down to -20 to -30 during the winter and was not sure if this would damage a battery sitting stagnate for 6 months. Would they be fine in these temps all winter?

Nothing to add to what GlueGuy said, but if you have 110v there's no need to take out the battery. Let the on board charger maintain it over the winter. And why take off the propane? Unless theft is your concern just shut the valve at the tank, if you even do that. BTW, the fridge has to have 12v to operate. I dunno if the converter takes care of that. Finally, as a guest house this time of year in Montana, the pod probably has no functional plumbing, right?

The lights will work on just the converter. However, the heater requires propane. You could put in a portable electric heater.

Hey all,

Just got out 1st R-Pod, Hood River 177. Very excited but have a noobie questions. We are having some friends stay in it for Turkey day but I have already taken the propane and battery off. Will the heat and lights run it is simply plugged into our house, and not connected to the propane or battery?
