If RPod was our only house I wouldn't care about that additional chore, but under the circumstances I really want to keep things as simple as possible. Also there are situations where we don't need to lower the step (quick stops, etc.) and that option would go away. As we age and also for some older family members I do think a two-step will be a good idea at some point so I'll be watching this topic and reading others' experiences.&nbsp;]]>

Like others I found it to be shakey (for lack of a better word.) Princess Auto had a scissor jack on sale that went to a lower height of 4.5in. up to (I forget)but more than I`ll ever need. Now the 2 step is very solid, after set up I just put the scissor jack under the bottom step, raise it up to give stability to the step and is very solid.]]>

I downloaded their qualifier, and even the 24" model requires a full opening of 22". On a 179, that screen door gets in the way and narrows the opening to about 21".<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=8698" rel="nofollow">tony rpod 180</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 12324<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 20 Oct 2018 at 6:46pm<br /><br />Mike, you need to google the step I purchased, I tried to post a picture but was unable to figure out how.<div>The step I bought is very heavy duty, it folds up into the doorway when traveling, and when in use it has adjustable feet(on the ground) to set level on most any terrain.&nbsp; Plus the steps are spaced just right for natural entry and exit.&nbsp; Our old steps were placed to close together and to narrow, and you really had to pay attention when stepping in and out of camper.</div><div>The mounting is very simple, it attaches on the floor in front of the threshold with screws, and that is where the hinge is for it to fold into the doorway and latches to the door frame.</div>]]>

My wife appreciates it, especially now that her knee is acting up and we are looking at her having a knee replacement in the not-too-distant future. I would not go back. You are welcome to it. The last I saw it, it was not rusty either.</div><div><br></div><div>A problem you might face in changing steps is the difference in mounting brackets for the two varieties of steps. Please measure the distance between the inside of the mounting brackets to which the steps bolt. I had to make shims for the double steps as they were narrower than the single steps.<br></div>]]>
