For electric and gas operation, it doesn't matter which you turn on first.

Make sure you fill the WH tank (by turning on a hot water faucet until water comes out) before turning on the electric switch so that you don't burn out the heating element. I was told when I bought my r-pod how to use the switches for the water heater, so if someone can please tell me if this is correct so I don't blow myself up....lol! Newbie here if you could not tell!!!

FOR GAS OPERATION: Make sure gas is on, turn the switch on inside the camper, and keep the switch in the off position inside the WH panel outside the camper.

FOR ELECTRIC OPERATION: Turn switch outside in the WH panel to on and keep switch inside camper off.

ELECTRIC AND GAS OPERATION FOR FASTER HEATING OF WATER: Make sure gas is on, turn on switch inside camper and then turn switch inside WH panel outside to on.
