I still see the Tacoma as the big dog in this segment. We've owned several Tacomas, and every single one was a great vehicle. Never had a single problem with any of them. Well, I take that back, one of them had a sticky tailgate latch that had gotten gummed up with dirt from our dirt driveway.]]>

I am sure they see the Colorado as their main competition and if the Ranger will indeed pull 7,700# it would certainly do a nice job of tugging a pod. I like the Ecoboost since DW wants to do some high altitude towing, and I had a bad experience towing our bunkhouse trailer through the Grand Tetons with our Dodge Hemi. It suffered a nasty case of altitude sickness. &nbsp;]]>

So it will probably have more horsepower and torque than the similar 4L V6 Tacoma. Do not let the number of cylinders fool you. EcoBoost engines are built like diesel engines, so they are very stout.</div><div><br></div><div>I would hazard a guess that it will have in the neighborhood of 260HP and 300 ft-lbs of torque. I don't know this, but I'm extrapolating based on other EcoBoost engines.<br></div>]]>

The Ecoboost engines have a lot of torque for the size. The cost is running premium to get that power. Take that into consideration as you look. An Ecoboost V6 would be better.]]>
