I installed a second battery box on the hitch. Put a second deep cycle marine battery bought for trolling motor in it. Once a week or so I will hook it up to a trickle charger.</div><div><br></div><div>I'm not sure at this point if I would ever need to wire it in for the extra capacity.</div><div><br></div><div>So I will just wait and see. The battery will be there. <br></div><div><br></div><div>Anyone have any good idea's on how to secure a couple of batterys from theft?</div><div><br></div><div>At this point I am thinking a couple of lengths of chain and a padlock.<br></div>]]>

YouTube videos show how to disconnect the two motors and manually push it in, but then you would have to block it and your next stop would be a service department to get everything put back in order.]]>

(just in case)</td></tr></table><div><br></div><div>Interesting you mention this.&nbsp; On our <i>very first trip</i>, getting ready to leave for home, we were faced with a slideout out with no battery power <i>after just one night</i>!&nbsp;&nbsp;<img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/smileys/smiley35.gif" border="0" alt="Censored" title="Censored" />&nbsp; It was a combination of Novice No-No's:</div><div><br></div><blockquote style="margin: 0 0 0 40px; border: n&#111;ne; padding: 0px;"><div>1.&nbsp; Ran refrigerator on 12V.&nbsp; &#091;Didn't want to run propane while driving, and wanted to see how long the battery would run the refrigerator.&nbsp; Correct answer:&nbsp; d) Not long.&#093;</div><div><br></div><div>2.&nbsp; Didn't check battery state of charge.&nbsp; Wall LED read "E", but since we just charged, and it was charging while we were driving (see #3 below), we figured there must be a problem with the indicator.&nbsp; When the pump sounded like it as spinning slow, we put the reefer on propane.</div><div><br></div><div>3.&nbsp; Later, back at the ranch, we found out that our mechanic did not run charge line when installing 7-pin connector on tow vehicle.&nbsp; He thought we "just wanted a brake controller installed"!</div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>So, we used up our entire battery running the refrigerator for less than a day.&nbsp; The slideout wouldn't budge.</div><div><br></div><div>Luckily, I brought a backup battery charger/jump starter and hooked it to the trailer battery and got the slideout in.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>In my preparation to go out, I had read that there is a mechanical connection where you can manually crank the slide in, but I hadn't taken the time to find where it is (still haven't 🙄).</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>So, my slightly-experienced recommendation is to look up that information and give it a try ... <i>in your driveway</i>.</div><div><br></div>]]>
