Ha! Looks like someone down under already has my idea. Of course, their website doesn't work and I can't find any details. Maybe not a big seller.

My guess is that neither of the above are really proven solutions and, more importantly, the majority of campers either don't really closely monitor their fridge temps or don't camp in hot weather? Of course, it would also complicate building process of each RV as they are all different.

I think the easier solution is just a more efficient method of exhausting the compartment. I've recently found an inexpensive fan can do just that. An aftermarket sidewall vent with built in fan and maybe even thermostat might be a good idea - http://www.dyersonline.com/dometic-black-20-side-vent-assembly.html

The little fan I'm using only draws about 0.15 amps. So I don't see that being a big issue.

Probably because if the flue exhaust were extended at the angle it currently has, the wind would force air through when going down the road which would not be good if one is using propane while traveling. Ok...as I understand it, the key to helping the fridge cool is to remove heat from the outside compartment. Why then, does the propane burner exhaust INSIDE this compartment?
