Replacing front diamond plate : I’m still having trouble locating...

    Author: OldNeumanntapr
Subject: 12011
Posted: 06 Aug 2018 at 9:14pm

I’m still having trouble locating an RV repair shop that can install the new diamond plate panel on my 2018 rPod. I just today received the insurance check from the insurance company that is representing the shop that damaged the front plate during the hitch installation. (The tech leaned one of the Equalizer sway bars against the front of the trailer and then lowered the power lift jack down, thereby semi puncturing the diameter plate.)

I’m thinking of replacing the panel myself since the shop had ordered the new part and I picked it up a few weeks ago.

My biggest concern is how to temporarily remove the two side moulding strips that seem to go over the sides of the front panel. The diamond plate panel has philips head screws that are easily removed but I don’t know how to deal with the sides, as those black rubber strips seem to go over the top on each end.

Has anyone removed this panel before? Any tips?

Thanks,

ONT
