If the batteries are dead, connecting the R-Pod to the tow vehicle will supply power. If tow vehicle is not available, connecting to shore power will allow the converter to supply power. If all that fails which is unlikely, then you still might be able to use a generator's 12V power connection to supply 12V power. In any case, lack of power is not something you should lose sleep over.

There are YouTube videos showing how. In essence, one has to go into the upper slide mechanism, loosen the motor and move it up to disengage it, repeat for the other side. When both are disconnected, push the slide-out in and then use wood to brace it. Then drive it to your dealer's repair shop or other authorized repair center to get it fixed as you likely won't be able to get the motors back in place yourself.

We have had our RP179 since December, 2015. We have covered probably over 25,000 miles with it and the slide-out has not had a single problem. It is nice to know what needs to be done if it does fail, but if it is working, don't worry abut it.
