I was in West Yellowstone. We were in town but even with the booster, we only got enough of a signal on one channel to know it was there. However, it was unwatchable. I agree that it is in the availability and strength of the signal that are primary factors in whether you can get TV reception or not.

thanks!!!!!  I had changed the source last night while the DVD was playing and it didn't work, BUT I tried again this am without the DVD and we have COLOR!!!! THANK YOU! My Grands would have been thrown into a time warp.
Still no signal, booster is on.   we are at the Pangutich KOA UT its real close to the town. so I figure the reception should be good.

For the television, are you trying in an area with good reception or bad reception. Did you turn the TV's amplifier on (the button on the wall plate). Did that make any difference?

I remember reading about the black and white and how to fix it. It has been a while but a search might find the posts on that subject.

Hello  we have a 179 2016.5 …. we have only used our TV several times in the past year, I just tried it to watch and is says no signal....  ok ill  watch a dvd...it worked but the picture is in BLACK and WHITE???? 
any suggestions. On our way to pick up the grands and we {they} need color TV.
I tried messing the settings but no luck.
