I just run them down with a power drill until they touch the ground and then go a little further, I probably could be a litle more scientific about it.

We now no longer store the broom along the edge of the slide out.
And when the door doesn't shut it's usually because the Jack on the back corner is adjusted too high. And this thing is just put together with staples, just restaple at the bulge out.
Rgds,john

    Author: IronStinky
Subject: 11817
Posted: 02 Jul 2018 at 9:07am

I actually considered making a new username for this post, it's so embarrassing.

So after a nice weekend away from our seasonal site, I towed the pod back to its normal spot. It was a rainy day and I was dealing with putting stuff away, etc and my wife asks if she should run the slide out. Part of me said, it's raining and we're not going to be using the camper until next weekend, why bother, but I was just like, go ahead.

You probably know what happened next but here goes. I'm putting tools in the storage space, and I hear the slide running out, and then I hear a crunch. I go inside, and she had left a broom in the little space between the slideout and the wall next to it (behind the shower).

I would like to think I don't need to be that person who f*&@#% needs to personally double check everything every time someone does something with the trailer. I love my wife and I know she feels horrible, she was crying and very upset.

The obvious damage is as follows: the front "fascia" of the sink/stove/fridge unit is pushed out from the rest of it. I tried hammering it back with a piece of wood as support, it helped a little but it's not right yet. I think I can probably take care of this though, I just need her and the dogs to not be standing there watching while I do it.

What worries me is a couple of other things I've noticed since this "incident". First, the wall between the back of the shower and next to the slideout is kind of pushed out at the bottom. I don't think it was like this before, but I don't see how this could have been a result of the slideout mishap. Second, the door to the pod doesn't close as easily as it used to.

Is it possible that she tweaked the entire body of the pod? Is there any way to tell for sure? Is there any way to fix it if she did?
