Some Fords had the wiring and components in the glove box, others it is inside the passenger kick panel. GM did same thing, has the wiring but the fuse has to be added. There is a F150 Forum that is very informative, but a quick stop at a dealer would probably get you an answer. Just because you have a trailer tow package doesn't mean that 12V wiring is hooked up. I read somewhere once that dealers leave that wiring out because the 12V pin in the 7 way can corrode if not used. I don't know. Was your 7 pin connector dealer installed?

I know with my GM products I had to a fuse to the under hood fuse box. The wiring was there but the fuse is an addition even if the trailer harness is OEM added. It's a 40A fuse that goes in that charge circuit. Just because you have a factory installed 7 pin doesn't mean you have a charge capability. As you look at your 7 pin on vehicle it will or should have 12V at the 1:00 position. It should follow alternator output.
