I have only started "yelling and ranting" this week after getting nowhere for one year of issues.
I am single, with 2 pets, no bathroom or converter as I keep a charger on the battery.

I wrote the email in "Word" format. 
It, then gives you the option to post in the original format or plain text.

Since it was in two different formats, I am pretty it was done on purpose. As I said in the other thread, before it was deleted, I am sure you decided the larger font and multicolors was more dramatic.

I am not surprised.  If you approached them like your initial post their response will be the minimum they have to do.  I worked with customer service folks from a number of industries and a common thread is they don't react positively to those who yell and rant.  If you did that with the dealer and FR on a previous trailer you used up any reserve of good will you may have had.

A previous poster asked why you bought a second trailer from them after problems with another.  Another question may be why did they sell you another.

It sounds like you are pretty angry from your posts.  And yes, most of the stuff is dealer prep that could be taken care of relatively quickly.  As for the tree damage, that's why you have insurance.  Let them decide, as Furpod suggested, decide how to deal with it.  They are in the business of adjusting claims and getting things fixed.  If the insurance company wants to total the trailer due to the tree damage, then the good side is that you don't have to deal with the dealer again, which, based on the tone of your posts, it seems you'd rather not do anyway.  If you have lost all confidence in the dealer, then lean on your insurance company to total the trailer.  It doesn't take much to declare a total loss given repair and transport costs.  Take the money and buy another trailer from a dealer whom you trust and with whom you can work.]]> Thu, 07 Jun 2018 17:23:28 +0000 http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11689&PID=110360#110360 NEED SUGGESTIONS TO DEAL W/ FOREST RIVER : Deleted duplicate posting & moved... http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11689&PID=110359#110359 Author: Guests

Except for the tree limb, nothing on that "list" is anything but a dealer/warranty issue. In fact, it's all minor stuff, the sort of thing a decent dealer clears up no issue. Considering your two wall of text posts, I suspect either you don't/didn't want to deal with them, OR, they had enough of you and didn't want to deal with you.

Having seen many a Pod need to go back to the factory for repair after an accident, FR is telling your insurance company, not you, what needs to be done, or really, the two ways to handle the damage to your pod. If your Pod needs to go back to the factory, YOU don't need to drive it, your INSURANCE will cover having it carted to the factory and back. Since it's up to the insurance company to pay for shipping, repairs, and return shipping, one of their options IS to total it, if the said costs outweigh the current wholesale value of the trailer. Simple math and the way insurance works.. Since you think it's the worst trailer you ever set sight on, I suggest you push for a total, get whatever you can for it in the insurance claim, and buy something you feel better about, from a different dealer.

My advice work with dealer and FR to repair your Pod. Once you have made an honest effort at that, if not satisfied every state has "lemon laws " that apply to RV purchases. You will need a special lawyer for that and numerous websites can provide that info. The dealer from whom you purchased this trailer should be working with FR to fix or replace your R-Pod. The black tank issue is known (search topic in forum) and you will see that some of us have reinforced the cross-bars with bolts and locknuts to prevent this from happening.

CURRENT AND FORMER CUSTOMERS

In March of 2017, Ipurchased an RP-180 new from Cheyenne Camping Center in Walcott, Iowa. The workmanshipof my new R-Pod was by far worse than any of my previous 4 RV's.  The dealer prep work was as poor (and dangerous)as I've ever seen (and I bought a NEW ForestRiver Wolf Pup from the same dealer 9 months earlier….a different disaster)

I picked up the R-Podafter going through the required orientation and drove it approximately 60 tomy home. This is my timeline-

-approximately 30 milesdown the road, I see a strap fly into the road. It was a safety strap for thebatter box that was never put on correctly. I put a bungee cord on it andcontinued.

-after backing into thedrive, I opened the door and two immediate problems jumped out.

1.    The dealer's prep-techforgot to attach the straps to both the table and the tv. I called the dealerand they couldn't get me back in immediately. The TV was okay (but lasted only6 months) and the table slammed into the kitchen cabinets. I got some touchupstain to fill in on the laminate.

-I packed up and leftfor Bull Shoals the next week. I experienced multiple problems upon arrival atBull Shoals State Park.

1.    The sewer hose cap hadfallen off and the hose had been lost along the way

2.    The entry door decalcame off and ripped the stripe

3.    The screen door latchwas broken, and door was out of adjustment

4.    The outside showerleaked the first night and flooded the floor by running into the sink/cabinetcompartment and onto the floor. Laminate was permanently damaged. (Never fixed)

5.    Water heater would not lighton LP. (bad circuit board)

6.    Converter door wouldnot stay closed. (still flops down)

7.    Standing water in thebathroom.

8.    Battery was never grounded,and I have had a bad converter since ????

FORESTRIVER REFUSED TO LET A MOBILE CREW DIAGNOSE AND REPLACE THE CONVERTER. (I was in Texas and wasunable to drive temporarily due to medical conditions)

Now- I was stopping for one night in Sam Houston Nationalforest and a limb fell on the top rear of the unit. There was no damage to thebathroom area (inside). The black water tank also fell to the ground when thelimb hit. This is the second time that happened and I paid for it the first time because they told me it must have beentoo full. The angle iron braces weren't bent and I thought that the tank should have been over-engineered,not under so it could handle the 75% capacity in it at the time.

TODAYI FIND OUT THAT FOREST RIVER EXPECTS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING (PER THE RESPONSE TO AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE)

·      I WILL BE REQUIRED TO DRIVE TO EITHER SOUTHBEND, INDIANA  (1325 MILES) OR UTAH  (1474 MILES) FROM ROCKPORT, TEXAS, OR…. MY INSURANCE COMPANY COULD TOTAL ITIF THEY WISH….       ARE YOU SH***INGME??????????????
