You don't necessarily have to spend the money on a fancy optical probe. <br></div>]]>

I've thought about getting one of those wifi optical probes to see what's inside the wall before I start cutting, but it still requires at least one hole in the wall. I could detach the shower sink I suppose and feed it in behind that.]]>

It is possible that there is not only wiring in that space, but also a vent stack. Before cutting, look on your roof above the space in question and make sure there is no tank vent above it. Wires are fairly easy to move aside. Vent stacks aren't.</div>]]>
