I can honestly say you CAN fit four people (two adult size two kids between 4'5" and 5') and two LARGE (one is 195#) dogs inside for the night if you are being eaten by rabid mosquitos! :D

Normally the kids like to sleep out in the dome room but the mosquitos were eating everyone alive!!!

That said we spend much of the day outside so we really aren't in the trailer much except at night time.

Laura and I just returned from our "shake down cruise" with our 2015 179.  We were out for 9 days and traveled about 900 miles.  We were very happy-everything worked, no problems and it was amazing space compared to our previous 173.  We felt like we had a lot of room and was quite luxurious. 
We are happy pod owners.  We have done a lot of the same mods that we did on our 173 and some new ones-also have more in the planning stages.
Before we bought the 179, we looked at a lot of different models including the 179 copies.  Most of them did not have the same quality as the original R Pod.

With my dinette mod, I look forward to having grandchildren stay with us in our 179. It is ideal for my wife and I, but I wanted to have the second bed usable for the times we want to have company. The original dinette was not good. My new version is much better.(See mods link in signature for pictures.)

I agree with TheBum. My wife and I are very comfortable staying in  our pod up to 4-5 weeks at a time.
Anyone else would mess up our rhythm

It's interesting how some other RV companies are building copies of the R-179 floor plan and shape.  It appears that it's been a very popular model for Forest River.  I just started my 4th season with my 179 and it's proven to be a very practical unit.  Of course, I travel alone so I don't know how it works for 2.
