Cut a lengthwise groove just wide enough to fit over the shaft and slip it on. The weight of the lid will hold it in place. In bad rain I also have a plastic tarp I hook to the inside of the lid locks that hangs over the back of the tent that I anchor to the stabilizers with bungees. So far so good. Phil]]>

I suppose anormal rain might not pose this problem, but I did make a tarp to hang from the lid for added protection. Also found the lid to have lowered itself and was rubbing on the tent and probably wore off some rain protection, so I made some supports that fit over the lid supports to prevent it from dropping down.]]>
