Sorry no pics, but here's what I did.  Got a piece 1/2 in. cpvc rigid water supply line (Menards) and cut it to the length of the fully extended lid support shaft. Cut a lengthwise groove just wide enough to fit over the shaft and slip it on. The weight of the lid will hold it in place. In bad rain I also have a plastic tarp I hook to the inside of the lid locks that hangs over the back of the tent that I anchor to the stabilizers with bungees. Only used our 176t 3 weekends so far and had a great time, BUT, during the 18 hr. driving rain storm found the tent to get a little wet inside. a few rain drops in the face woke me up. I suppose anormal rain might not pose this problem, but I did make a tarp to hang from the lid for added protection.             just seemed to lack any kind of quality control ,on the finish. thought i was buying the best.

towed it from ohio to new mexico.
sold a 27' airstream.
to early to tell yet ,but seems like an improvement.
