Yeah. If you have to use the built-in backup camera circuit that is true. I saw one a few weeks ago that bypasses that. It's made by Axxess Interfaces.

There are a couple of companies that have ways of tying in auxiliary cameras into the console display. The one I've read about is made by Axxess Interfaces.

has anyone had a backup camera installed by Jeffs RV Nation. Have a new 189 and am ready for our first road trip..Can't get the camera to pair with display unit. How is the camera powered, always, when in reverse only ?? I  can't find switches etc. for camera unit. any help appreciated. By the way this is my first post..
