I want to apologize to the OP of this thread, John4TA I believe it is?, for taking this discussion way off on a different direction then his original questions. It's also good to know that we all can agree to disagree at times and be civil about our discussions and still be a community that respects one and the other. Thank you and again forgive me if I did get this discussion thread off course. Which states you can contact the warrantor (Forest River) to obtain a list of authorized service location you can take your Pod into for warranty work. If this is correct which can be verified by a phone call to Forest River that would mean you might buy your Pod else where but you can get your Pod warranty service done at the dealer closer to your home. Just like you can when you buy a new car and if your local authorize Forest River dealer service department tries to jerk you around maybe another phone call to Forest River corporate legal department would be all you need to do to correct any local dealer "misconceptions"?

I'm not a lawyer but its is interesting food for thought!

As for insurance cost call your local agent and then also call someone like Geico to compare rates. I would agree that the Fastway e2 is a popular choice. I have the Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control hitch and it has served us well. Some others have used the Andersen No-Sway hitch. It has the advantage of being much lighter than either of the two above.

If you are able, probably the best hitch available is the Hensley Cub, but it is very expensive. However, I just called and found out that a special test market offer is available that reduces the price significantly. Anyone interested could call Hensley Manufacturing (800) 410-6580 for details. I am very much considering going for it, especially in view of the one accident I had when we hit ice with a strong cross-wind where the Equal-i-zer was not able to stop the wind from pushing the trailer and starting a sway condition that ended up with us facing the wrong way in the passing lane of I80 in Wyoming.
However, this would be the least that I would feel good about recommending for an OK experience towing the Pod.

I see merit in going with something a little "beefier". If you should decide (after a time) to trade in/ go with a larger or heavier trailer, you would not have to buy a new tow vehicle, again.

Right now, I'm "rubbing my chin" about a No-Bo 19.5. Once you buy the pod/camper it becomes somewhat of an addiction. I can't stay away from amazon. Look at the 40,000 as a 5 - 10 year cost. I also have a frontier, and the cost of that I don't count. I have to buy a vehicle no matter what. It's actually a plus that my vehicle has some real balls and can be versatile. Many of us use the pod for different things. I not only camp with it. Sometimes i go to the casino, and I hate the hassle of getting up early, and rushing to get there before the high stakes bingo starts. I simply go the night before and camp out in the R.V. lot, wake up, go get the a.y.c.e. breakfast and casually make our way to our spot. Sometimes we go to the beach and park the pod in the parking lot, and have a home base. Even just going to visit with someone, you have your own accommodations. I have a trip to wash d.c. this summer that I probably would never have done if not for the pod. I personally hate sleeping in beds that lord knows whats gone on in it, and using public toilets. As stated only you can decide whats right for you, but you need to think of it in context.
