It's not a big deal to us: it runs right off when we retract the slide, as furpod alluded to. We also have the cheapest model that Carefree sells, which does not have a hard cover but does have an anti-billowing brake when retracted to keep the fabric pretty tightly wound when driving down the road, even in strong winds.

The good thing is, when you bring the slide in, it drains just fine. We never had an issue with it.
Is the Carefree kover III the only one that has a hard case? I thought I remembered another but my head is spinning with all the options.

Also does anyone know of one that doesn't allow water to pool in it? Thanks in advance!
