I know camping world sells a 20 foot flag pole that has a base you can pull your trailer or pulling vehicle wheel onto. Its kind of pricey but I am going to look into purchasing that flag pole. And yes it does come with a 3x5 flag. Improved tracking is a good thing also. I would expect better mileage given the better aerodynamics.

What is the material you used for the exterior? Is it just paint over wood or is it some sort of composite?

Well Mark, I once got 19.3 mpg ( us gallon ) for about 60 m with a 40mph tale wind. Stephen, I can't  say for sure, I don't keep track of mpg, if I have to keep track of mpg and worry about it, that to me means I can't afford it, plus 50% of people lie about the mpg they get.  But what I did noticed  that it tracks a lot better.

I appreciate the attention to detail described in this and other posts on this topic. For whatever reason, I have the misfortune of coming across too many flags in the United States that are leaned against or rubbing on something. Most of the time - depending on the setting - I politely speak to the flag owner (which is often a private-business owner) and they're quick to resolve it. Mistakes (and wind!) can of course happen to any of us. But it's always upsetting to observe when it's obvious that the flag could not possibly have flown free the way it was attached. So thanks all!

I have a flag pole and assorted flags. It is a PVC rotating flag pole, that you can buy as kit or make yourself with very common PVC supplies. With my old popup camper I used to fly a US flag at our camp site.
