New to Rpod : As a minimum, I would recommend...

    Author: StephenH
Subject: 10832
Posted: 29 Oct 2017 at 7:31pm

As a minimum, I would recommend one of the 2000 watt inverter generators. I have the Generac iX2000 which is rated 2000 watts continuous and 2200 watts surge. That will likely work the microwave. Some have difficulty. My original one would not run on the generator, but the replacement did. One that I recently saw that I am impressed with is the new Predator 3500 watt inverter generator from Harbor Freight. I have seen some good reviews about it and the price is very reasonable. It would run the AC without problem. I am not sure if it would run the microwave, the refrigerator, and the AC simultaneously, but it might run two of the three simultaneously. The downside would be weight. The plus side is that the 3500 from the videos I saw is very, very quiet.

Evaluate what you want to do with it. If all you want is a way to keep your batteries charged and run the furnace and lights, you may be able to get by with an even smaller generator like the Sportsman 1000 Watt Inverter Generator.
We love our 2017 180 and after going to an RV show a couple weeks ago were impressed with the upgrades of 15" wheels and new radio/stereo head unit in your 2018 model. As for a generator do some searching on the forum and you'll find what other folks are using. The size of generator, power out in watts, depend all on whether you intend to use the air-conditioning and microwave convection oven.
