Well, I have revisited the matter and have been thinking. I keep arriving at the same conclusion – I agree with Leo’s wife….not a good thing for this “arena”. I am reminded of a song from the sixties, performed by the Byrds ….”To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven” (we won’t mention that they are quoting scripture).    

Trying to do something like this would substantially change the complexion of this forum – possibly not for the better.
Most who have been around the forum a while likely know or have surmised that I am single/divorced. I have been so for over a decade. As such, I make the following comments from that point of view.

While it is impossible to know how many members are single/not in a committed relationship, I suspect the number is very, very small. I know (again from my own experiences) that it is pretty darn rare to encounter other single campers – regardless of what they might be camping in.

If the small number isn’t bad enough, our membership is scattered all over North America. Using myself as example, let’ say I meet “Patty Podder”, who happens to be a really nice person. I live in Indiana but, she lives in Washington State. Is it realistic to think that either of us would (be willing to) travel that much distance, on any sort of a regular basis? I can’t speak for others but I sure wouldn’t.

The odds of something like this really working (here) are miniscule, at best. Then, there are the “perception” issues (read some of the above comments). Rpod Owners has grown well over the years and enjoys a good reputation, for what it is.

There is already a mechanism in place, should members wish to contact each other – the Private Mail function of the forum.   Any member can send a private message to any other member. Using myself/the above example again, should "Patty Podder" join the forum and find me irresistible, she is free to send me a private mail. I'll go "on record" in saying that it will get read - along with the hundreds of other "Patty Podder" private mails that I get!

While I like the idea of wanting to help, for what my “vote” is worth, something like this would be better done in some other venue.

I'm a bit amazed. So we take the best source on the interweb and turn it into a dating site. I like hook ups - power, electricity and water. I personally don't want to help, except if I can assist a fellow camper with a real issue. Perhaps we could all post glamour photos of ourselves, and add some intrigue to the site. This in my opinion is a bad idea, and I realize it is only my opinion. I don't think is was a bad idea...just not sure how something like that would work in this venue. Perhaps Fred's suggestion was good. A 40 ft. diesel pusher would have no problem pulling the pod. You could leave a nice note and the tow vehicle. Of course, depends on the TV, which might be better to hook up than the rpod. Just thinking out loud.

I read because Fred and Leo did, hard enough to fix RPod issues, let alone find a hook up. I think they have other sites for that. BUT - if looking I would be checking for ladies with big diesel pushers, like 40 feet at least and aroung 100K-200K not RPod owners. Bless them. Then I wouldn't own a trailer it would be gone in the settlement. However, to answer the OP question.......

It has not been discussed, in the past. However, we are always open to new ideas and suggestions. If you could provide details on what you are thinking, perhaps we could create a poll to see if there is interest in the matter. My "gut feeling" is that most members are not single.
