Good evening Don,

We also just bought a new 2017 RP178 but haven't taken delivery yet.  Looking forward to it.  I really liked a few of the upgrades 2017 brought, especially the flat countertop sink and stove-top.

I was glad to hear your Escape towed it so well, we have a 2016 Santa Fe XL with a 3.3l V6 so I'm hoping that it will pull it nicely.

Our last trailer was a 1997 Tent trailer that would leak in a drizzle, so we are really looking forward to some "dry-time"!

We'll let you know if we learn anything unique when we take delivery.

We too are new 178 owners - absolutely loved it on our shakedown trip last weekend.  Better than expected.  We did upgrade to memory foam mattress for our first trip so the experience would be good with lots of comfortable sleep.

You're right. I was able to accelerate even pulling the long grades through the mountains of West Virginia.

Hodge-Pod (2018 178) is home. I went to Indiana to pick it up on Tuesday and got her home last night. I spent today cleaning it up and testing all of the systems. All seems to be fine so far!

I towed it home with my 2016 Ford Escape Titanium. It did awesome! While in the flatlands of Indiana and western Ohio, I was at 18.4 mpg. Then when I hit the hillier portions of eastern Ohio, the mountains of West Virginia and western Virginia, my mpg's dropped. I averaged 16.7 for the entire trip. Much better than I had anticipated!

I look forward to learning everything I can about the new abode from much wiser folks than I (specifically, YOU folks!) and can't wait for the "shakedown" trip!
