    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=410" rel="nofollow">TerryM</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1002<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 Dec 2009 at 9:57am<br /><br /><b>Barstow:&nbsp; </b><u>Owl Canyon BLM Campground</u> 23 primitive sites, 5 restrooms, grills, fire pits, shaded cement tables, playground and hiking trails.&nbsp; There is also a limited supply of water.&nbsp; Great views!&nbsp; <u>Located next to Rainbow Basin Natural Area.<br><br></u>Cost:&nbsp; $6.00 per day<u>.<br><br><br></u><b>Bombay Beach:</b>&nbsp; <u>Salton Sea State Recreation Area</u> has numerous primitive sites with port-a-johns.<br><br>Cost:&nbsp; $7.00 per day.&nbsp; $5.00 per day for 62+<br><br><br><b>Chiriaco Summit:</b>&nbsp; <u>parking areas</u> have free overnight usage.&nbsp; Watch for "Free Dry Camping" signs.&nbsp; There are MANY parking lots in this area to use.&nbsp; Name is pronounced:" ShRAY-co Summit"<br><br>Cost:&nbsp; FREE!<br><br><br><b>Mecca:</b>&nbsp; <u>Salton Sea State Recreation Area</u>&nbsp; has 6 campgrounds with primitive sites.<br><br>Cost: $17.00 per day for primitive.&nbsp; With hookups = $23.00 per day.&nbsp; $2.00 discount for 62+<br><br><br><b>Palo Verde:</b>&nbsp; <u>Oxbow BLM</u> has boondocking with vault toilets and dumpsters.<br><br>Cost: $15.00 per day<br><br><br><b>Salton City:</b>&nbsp; <u>Palm Beach dry camp, Salton Community Service District</u> has 30 pull through sites + tent sites.&nbsp; Water available.&nbsp; Some sites have tables.&nbsp; Restrooms with flush toilets.<br><br>Cost:&nbsp; $8.00 per day.&nbsp; Tents are $4.00 per day.<br><br><br><b>Yermo:</b>&nbsp; <u>Peggy Sue's Nifty Fifties Diner</u>, a very large place, has free overnight parking.&nbsp; Restrooms inside can be used.&nbsp; <br><br>Regular Diner food plus authentic pizza shop, ice cream shop, and gift shop!&nbsp; Small attraction in rear!<br><br>Cost:&nbsp; Free!&nbsp; (so buy some good eaten!)<br><br><br><br>]]>
