This new-to-me slide-out thing generated a question when I looked on the top of the slide (when retracted inside the camper) and saw pollen and other small woods debris on it.  How would one sweep or clean the top of this prior to camp departure?  Step ladder and broom?  Big towel?  Any other tricks to doing this?  Never thought to do this on the 2 trips we've taken in it.

I throw a step-ladder into the truck when loading.
Before breaking camp and retracting I always:
1. Dry towel or sweep all big debris off top of slide.
2. Moisten the towel and clean top of slide.
Step 2 may  be overkill - I don't want to pull in dirt/dust into interior.
But Step 1 is vital.  Does not really matter how you do it, but be sure you do.
If retract with gum-ball, pine-cone, branch, etc. on top the rubber seal could get badly damaged/destroyed.
Plus while cleaning it all can be inspected again.
Or do like others and install a slide-topper,

I keep a step ladder and a towel with me on every trip. I noticed that the first time I brought the slide in. There was moisture, pollen, etc still on top of the slide. No good.

+2 carry a step ladder, not a 16' footer. I have a collapsible and extendable sweep brush that allows me to sweep the slide out.

A Swiffer (but not the wet jet) or equivalent works well for cleaning things off the top of the slide-out as well. The benefit is that you can toss the dirty cleaning pad when you are done.

Will add these things to the "list".   Thanks for the ideas!

We learned our lesson after an inch or so of snow. We didn't even think about snow until I closed the slide out and oh what a mess.

Snow and ice adds a new dimension. I like the Swiffer post, but that doesn't fix weather stuff. I retracted my slide in rain once, wiped up water, it will come in with it.

I think I may ponder adding the slide topper and be done with it.  Thanks for the suggestions.  Yet another item not mentioned by the FR manual or the dealer tech.

Anyone have recommendations for a good slide topper?

Pahaque sells them, I think around 99 bucks. They are one size fits all for Pod, I had to trim the keder rail adapter to get it to fit to my liking.

My bad, the 179 cover is different and 40 dollars more.

The PahaQue version is manual, like the one I made. I would prefer an automatic, roll-out slide cover, but that isn't in the budget right now.

+1 SH, little high dollar for the issue. Bit more than a step ladder and cleaning stuff.
