After crushing one of my rear stabilizer jacks on my last trip, I have decided to move them forward. Has anyone done this? How far forward? Is there any issue with running a screw through wiring etc? It looks to me that it's just the frame that you are drilling into and it looks pretty simple. What do you think?

The further you move them forward, the less stabilization they'll provide. The factory jacks are practically made of foil, so it doesn't take much to damage them.

Some folks have gone to SaveAjack quick disconnects, makes it easy to remove rear stabilizers for travel. Bout 65 bucks for two. Another member replaced the bolts with locking pins. So he could drop the jack off for traveling.

Save A Jacks take about s5 or 10 minutes to install. A set of sockets and a drill. As I recall I elected to use only 3 bolts because the 4th didn't line up. And i didn't want to drill another hole next to the one that was there.

I put SavAjacks on... FR welded my scissor jacks on so I had to take it to someone because I don't have a grinder. But my jacks now sit on the floor in the pod and are the first thing that comes out when I open the doors. I even have the BAL stabilizing arms, which form a triangle, so the scissor jacks don't wobble either. Works great.

Funny, mine were mig welded, when I wiggled the jack the weld separated. I was missing some of the sheet metal screws that held the jack on. I replaced them with longer screws.

Either the sav-a-jack or get a Pod suspension lift kit (if your pod doesn't have it).

If the sites you end up with are that severe, not much can help. I scraped way too many times before I got the lift.

I just removed the jacks for travel and crank them up when I get to the site. End of problem, just grind off the welds.

Just a comment - DO Not Over torque the sheet metal screws. I think recommended for #14s is 10 lbs max. Personally I use a 1/4 " drive to emplace sheet metal screws. Also with jack savers I had an issue with carriage bolts that were high domed, I had to tighten and file head for jack adapter to slide into the rail adapter. Big fan of save a jack, works well for me.
