I just bought my first pod...a 2017 Rpod 171. It came with the Rdome/tent. My question is this...while looking at a YouTube video, I thought it was suggested that the Rdome could be rolled up and left on while traveling. Is this true? I have not taken the Rdome out of the box yet to investigate because I'm not sure I want to keep it, or exchange it for an awning.
Thanks!

Welcome to the group!! Congrats on your 171! Have never heard of anyone doing that with the r-dome. Someone might have gotten confused with an awning.

The first time I put up the r-dome with my wife, I figured we would sell it, rather frustrating to put up.  After reading about the many on this forum that love it I figured maybe we should practice a couple more times putting it up, and after that we decided to keep it and we are glad we did.  Takes almost 15 minutes to put up by myself and maybe 10 minutes to take down and put away.  We don't put it up unless we are going to stay at least 3 days at one location however.

Yes, the r-dome has to be put away in storage before traveling down the road.

Thanks for the info. I will give the dome a chance. From what I'm reading, most like it and would recommend it.

Some pups come with a "bag awning" as do some B-vans.. the dome is not a bag awning. It does store in a bag though.. LOL  Just not one permanently attached to the trailer.

We've found it a lot easier to set up if we keep the sides rolled up and the front removed and just use it as a canopy, especially if it is windy out.
