Hey everyone. First post. In fact haven't even bought my pod yet but really like the 180 and have one on hold. The 180 doesn't have a couch. There are two seats with the table in the middle. Ideally I'd like a couch instead. The 179 has a couch but we chose the 180 for the bathroom.

Is there a way to upgrade/change out the furniture in these things? Love the pods but I'm hoping to make ours a little more comfortable. Any ideas and/or suggestions out there?

Welcome to the group!

Headed over to Maine next week, staying at Bar Harbor KOA/Oceanside. Have tour the 180 before but went with the 179 for the larger kitchen, storage and the couch.

There are numerous folks here that do some amazing mods to their pods. I am confident someone can help you out.

You said the 179 has more storage than the 180? We haven't pulled the trigger yet and they have a 179 too. Can you elaborate on the difference in storage between the two?

The 179 has the large kitchen area that has a lot of under counter storage the a good size pantry right as you go in the door. It also has the wardrobe by the bed with draws and small closet.

Over the couch area there is also cabinets above the couch which holds a lot of items.

If memory serves, the 180 doesn't have the draws or small closet by the bed. it does have some overhead storage over the dinette area, but doesn't have the under counter storage or pantry that the 179 has.

Yeah we really liked the bigger kitchen and the couch on the 179. Just called the dealer and he's changing our hold from the 180 to the 179. Love em both but having a couch to watch the ballgame sealed it.

Man that dealer's gonna be some happy to see us gone!

Good luck!! When you take delivery have them give you a real detailed walk thru. Have them demonstrate every thing from the fridge/ a/c stove heater tv everything you can think of . I suggest videoing the demonstration lets you review set up and use.

Be sure to ask about the Forest River 1 year extended warranty for $150 it's one of the best deals in RVing.

We are looking at ways to have a sofa in our 180 by converting the bed to a murphy bed with a sheet of plywood to lift the mattress and have a fold up backrest with a futon pad for cushions. it is still in the planing stages, I'll post pix if I actually do it.

I've been trying to find out about extending our warranty, as we are approaching one year with our R-Pod.

Do you have any tips on how to go about that? Not finding it in any of our documentation or FR website.

Sorry but the one year $150 extended warranty offered by Forest River is only valid for 10 days after purchase. You can try calling FR and see if they would give it to you. There are third party extended service contracts that dealers sell up to one year after purchase. Our dealer is offering us the Protective Asset Protection six year platinum coverage plan for $933
