Fellow Podders,
I learn a lot on this forum, particularly that the stock tires on my 179 are nearly at their weight capacity so I've had new Carlisle 8 ply tires installed. I have my stock Constancy 205/75R14s for sale. We purchased the Pod last Aug 2017 so the 2 on the wheels have less than 300 miles on them, the spare has 0 miles. Similar tires can be found for about $50 each so I'd sell all 3 for $100. These would work great on a lighter trailer so they're not so close to their upper limit. I'm hoping someone can put them to use. Comments are welcome if the folks on this forum think I'm not priced right, or have other advice.
I'm in the Omaha, NE area and would be willing to meet somewhere nearby. I haven't looked into shipping costs but doubt it would be cheap enough to make the deal.

Thanks for looking

Contact your local Discount Tire. They can give you the price information.

Dave & Donna,
Just under $100 each mounted, and balanced. They were so intent on selling me the road hazard warranty that they discounted the tires to defray the cost so no extra expense on my part. Don't need the warranty but I'll get free flat repairs if Discount Tires is nearby. As StephenH says, contact Discount tire for a price. I did a little internet research and they were the best price, there are a few cheaper but I would have to have someone mount and balance. I did not have time so Discount Tire was best bet.

I will add that the new tires look no different, and I can tell no difference while towing but I feel better knowing that I have tires that have much more load capacity than I need, the originals were too close- shame on Forest River. This tire tip was likely the best piece of info I've gotten off of this forum, there is likely better info here than you can pay for.

 Good luck

I jacked up my 'Pod and took the wheels in one at a time to get the tires changed. You can see my custom jacking block with the hydraulic trolley jack I use in my mods. The block keeps pressure off of the axle, using the brackets where the axle attaches to the risers. I made it from scrap pressure-treated lumber. It works well.

Comment - I was entering a campground with my C rated tires and crossing speedbumps at the entrance. The attendant told me to check the tires because it looked like my tires were low. They were NOT. The notable difference I have seen is the D rated tires do not have the "squish" associated with C rates that are at their load max.

+1 to SH - jack at the brackets to the axle risers.

Fellow Podders,
I still have these tires for sale and would welcome opinions and advice on the pricing. I would like to recover some $$ for these but above all would like for someone to be able to put them to use while saving a lot of $$$. What is a fair price? Does anyone feel these tires are not a good idea, even for a lighter trailer? As much as I'd like to sell them I would not do so if I thought someone was putting their safety at risk. I'd appreciate your advice.

Thank you
Dan

dr2428, they are good tires. As long as you make sure you are within speed and load capacity. How much you want for them is debatable. They are used tires. I gave mine to the tire shop, tired of used tires everywhere, and I had nothing else they fit.

Hey Podders,
I still have these tires, they've been stored indoors since I had them removed. Been a busy year so little effort to sell these. While I'd like to sell these to recover some of my expense, I'd really like if they went to someone who really needed them. I'd take $50 just to get them out of my garage but if you know of someone who is not going to camp this year until they can afford tires, I would consider donating. I hate to waste.
I'm in the Omaha area, I can't ship or deliver long distance but would meet at a reasonable distance from 68128.

Thank you

When a upgraded I sold my Constancy LRC's to my neighbor for $10 each.  He has a boat trailer which gets used to run down to the ramp a few miles each year. He never goes faster than about 25 mph so they're safe for his usage. Considering that mounting costs more than the tires its hard for folks to justify much cost for used tires these days.
