so..i just bought a 2018 rpod 179 and have been reading lots of posts about operating the TV/DVD on 12 V.  Seems my options are:
1.  Wire a 12V outlet near the TV and run the existing system with an inverter.
2.  Wire a 12V outlet near the TV and replace the existing system with a 12V model.

any guidance on which way to go ?
thanks !

Option 1 is probably the least expensive way to go. Those 12V models are expensive.

I got a 24" AC/DC TV from Amazon Warehouse Deals for $124. It runs on 12 volts DC or 120 volts AC. Much cheaper than an inverter

Hello, I posted a simple 10 minute do it yourself lesson on how to convert your TV to DC as well as charging 2 phones via a USB connection. Don't buy a 12 volt TV. You can convert yours for under $20 bucks. If you go up to the search button (little magnifying glass) and type in: TV 12 volts, you'll see my idea. Hope it works for you. Welcome to the POD world.

I wish I could have saved you a hundred dollars. See my post on how to convert your TV for under $20 bucks and it takes 8 minutes. If you go to search (little magnifying glass on top of page) and type in: TV 12 volt, you can see my suggestion.
