Hi all....
I just got my 180 back from the dealer after the water leak problem.
Now....I need some help.
I packed up and I'm at Coralville Lake Dam site in Iowa. I think all my previous "pod-camp" experiences involved city-water camping, but there is no individual water hook-ups, so I filled my tank as I'll be here a week or so.

Here's my dilemma.....My water pump won't turn off. I don't know if it's unable to pressurize? Something else? It's raining really hard here so I figured I'd ask the experts before troubleshooting it tomorrow.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Tee

You don't say how long you let it run, but I just finished my first dewinterization and was surprised at how long it took the pump to come up to pressure. It might have been 10-15 minutes.

Did you close the valve for winterizing and or did you put the low drain point caps back on. It sounds like you are sucking air. Don't forget the pump has to fill the HWT, open the hot water line on the hot side to let the air out, it takes awhile.

Wow..., okay. I'm starting it again. We'll see. I never dreamed it would take that long.

I turned it back off. My tank dropped from level 4 to 2.

The low point caps are on. I'm feeling dense, but where is the winterizing valve located?

I think the 180 has it in the same place as the 179. If so, the winterizing valve is under the bed, at the end closest to the front-left of the trailer (looking from back to front). You will need to remove the mattress and the bed platform to get to it. You will see the pump and a valve. There will be a section of hose attached to the valve. This is used to suck RV antifreeze into the system. The valve changes it from the winterizing hose to pulling water from the tank.

When we first got ours, the dealer had not changed the valve so it was pulling air. I could not figure out why it was not pumping water. I finally did the above procedure and saw the valve. Once I changed it over, it started pulling water from the tank.

Now, if you saw your fresh water drop from full (4 LED lights) to 2 (1/3 full), then it sounds like it is pulling water. Is there the sound of water anywhere while you are running the pump? Check your outside shower as well as all faucets inside. As pointed out, the water heater will take 6 gallons to fill. The water lines will take another gallon or so. It might be taking that much to fill the system with water.

I hope you get it figured out. If the faucets are all closed and the pump continues to run, start checking all water line connections. Look for leaks as something might not have been tightened fully and you may be spraying water inside a cabinet somewhere.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I mentioned that I just got my pod-baby back from the dealership because of a water leak. (This is almost embarrassing...lol)
My woodwork on the slide-out was water-soaked and outdoor shower box had to be replaced. The water heater would not heat off of propane, only electric. (a few other things that ultimately took 10 days to repair).
I did do a walk-around last night, but it was thunder, lightening and rain storm and I couldn't hear if there was excess running water.
This morning I got up early and went up to fill with water again. This time I could hear excess water ......guess where?   The outdoor shower box.  When I went out to check, the shower handle was in full-on position and both faucets were cracked.
Wouldn't you think they would have been smart enough to turn off the shower head in case the faucets did crack open?  (we won't go there....I'm not impressed with service dept AT ALL)
Anyway, thank you for your suggestions, Stephen (and to all that responded) Smile

I am glad that it was the outside shower and not water spraying around inside a cabinet. Chalk it up to a learning experience. I've had lots of those. Big smile
