I tried a search with the miserable 'search' function - no results, so ...

I recently went to my friendly neighborhood rv store, asked them to grease the bearings and inflate the Class C tires (I know - lazy, but it sure was convenient) for the coming year.

After my first trip I checked the tires (I know, I should have done it daily- this had better teach me) and the pressure was around 65 psi.

From the internet, tires can be safely over inflated, maybe it's even good in certain situations, but I feel pretty obviously this is too high by far (Class D level).

Comments on over inflating tires??

For reasons I can't recall right now, I keep the tires on my pod at 50#.  Pretty sure they're C rated and they call for 50# on the sidewall.  In my opinion airing them up to 65# is probably okay but not good for any reason I can think of.  I wouldn't want to run them at that pressure for any length of time; it would probably eventually cause premature wear in the middle of the tread.  Short term, it's unlikely there is any harm done.

ok, be sure to check your tires when they are cold. as you drive and the tires get hot the pressure will rise
so if they are 50psi when cold they may go up 10psi when hot  someone correct me if I'm wrong which I am 90% of the time

Always put your trailer tires at maximum cold inflation pressure, whatever the side wall says. If it says 50 psi, do it.

When towing, it's also a good idea to inflate the rear tow vehicle tires +5 psi over the recommended cold tire pressure. This helps with stability.

You should be set at 50psi. The 65 psi won't harm anything over the course of a single trip. Over time, you will see excessive wear in the center of the tread. Just drop it back to 50psi, and camp on..  ;)
