Hello Everyone,

We just became owners of a 2010 model 172 a few months ago. Hoping to modify the top bunk to raise up so the bottom bed can be used for regular seating.

Not sure how to locate the aluminum wall studs to securely mount the hinge at the front of the camper and the side stop blocks to catch it when it is in the down position. I would appreciate if anyone could post some measurements or information to help me out.

I contacted FR and they said there are only supports around the windows and doors, but I assume there must be something more than that to screw in to? Especially on the front of the camper where there are no doors or windows.

Thanks...

try a stud finder or look at the exterior on a cold damp morning.
