While inspecting and ensuring water is ready for season. I was cleaning and inspecting around water pump. I noticed a valve that was in the flow thru position, with a hose on the tee that went nowhere. Just a hose on a valve. What is the purpose of that hose? Why not just a straight line? Thanks.

That is hose you stick in the container with the pink stuff

to winterize you plumbing system.
